SALYERSVILLE – One person was life flighted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 460 Tuesday morning.
According to Magoffin County Sheriff Bill Meade, on November 11, the wreck involved two vehicles traveling east on New U.S. 460 headed toward Johnson County. A white commercial van had stopped or slowed to make a left-hand turn into the recycling center, when a silver SUV coming from behind struck the rear of that van.
The van operator’s injuries are unknown at press time, but those sustained by the driver of the silver SUV were serious enough for the Magoffin County Rescue Squad and Patriot EMS to summon a helicopter, establishing a landing zone in the middle of U.S. 460.
The injured was transported from the scene to a trauma center, with their status unknown at press time.
