PAINTSVILLE – A Staffordsville man died after a wreck in Paintsville on Monday.
On Monday, June 8, the Kentucky State Police Post 9 was notified of a two-vehicle collision in Paintsville at 11:41 a.m.
Kentucky State Police Post 9 Public Affairs Officer Trooper Michael Coleman tells the SI the initial investigation indicates that Ricky “Jarrod” Hale, 42, of Staffordsville, was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier and traveling west on 321 when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a Ford Expedition, driven by Makayla Burchett.
Hale was transported from the scene of the wreck to Paintsville ARH, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
KSP Trooper Colton Cross continues to oversee the investigation and completion of the reconstruction of the collision.
Burchett had to be extricated from her vehicle and was flown out for her injuries, but her status is unknown at press time.
Hale’s social media included that he was a member of the Magoffin County High School Class of 2001.
