SALYERSVILLE – A Magoffin County grand jury released the following indictments this past week, issued on October 1:
Nathan N. Helton, 50, of K & D Auction Road, in Salyersville, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, less than 2 grams of methamphetamine (Class D felony). According to the indictment, on or about July 11, 2026, Helton allegedly possessed with the intent to manufacture, distribute or sell a quantity of methamphetamine.
Rachel Risner, 39, of Salyersville, is charged with second-degree assault (Class C felony). According to the indictment, on or about April 30, 2026, Risner allegedly wantonly caused serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or danger instrument.
Sheena Spears, 38, of Painters Lick, Salyersville, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony). According to the indictment, on or about July 7, 2026, Spears allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine.
Caitlin P. Cole, 32, of Connelley Farm Road, in Salyersville, is charged with first-degree fleeing and evading police, motor vehicle (Class C felony); first-degree fleeing and evading police, on foot (Class C felony); first-degree wanton endangerment (Class D felony); first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony); first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, drug unspecified (Class D felony); two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance, first offense, aggravating circumstances (Class B misdemeanor); third-degree escape (Class B misdemeanor); and prescription of a controlled substance not in proper container, first offense (Class B misdemeanor). According to the indictment, on or about August 4, 2026, Cole allegedly disobeyed a direction to stop given by law enforcement, fleeing on foot and by vehicle, engaged in conduct that created substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, possessed quantities of methamphetamine and an unspecified controlled substance; possessed drug paraphernalia, operated a motor vehicle while under the influence, escaped into the woods while being restrained in handcuffs and in custody of a sheriff’s deputy, and possessed a controlled substance which she was prescribed but not in the container it was delivered to her.
Issued on May 16, 2024, but served this week:
Armando I. Elizondo, 27, of Lexington, is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon (Class C felony). According to the indictment, on or about March 7, 2024, Elizondo allegedly possessed a handgun having been previously convicted of a felony.
Issued on August 20, 2026, but served this week:
Anthony J. Sanabria, 32, of Salyersville, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine (Class D felony); tampering with physical evidence (Class D felony); and possession drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). According to the indictment, on or about May 13, 2026, Sanabria allegedly possessed a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, as well as attempted to destroy, mutilate, conceal, remove or alter physical evidence which he believed was about to be used in official proceedings.
Warrants were issued for those listed in the above indictments. Indictments are released only after the defendants are served in their respective cases.
