Marcella Marie Perkins Howard age 75 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her home. She was born February 27, 1947 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Mitchell and Lena Childers Perkins.
Survived by two sons, Stanley (Karen) Howard, of Salyersville, Kentucky, Thomas (Jennifer) Howard of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, Margaret Perkins Arnett of Salyersville, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Ashton (Kimmy) Howard, Houston Howard, Kati (Cody Kidd) Howard, Morgan Howard, and three great grandchildren, Conner Howard, Jesse Howard, and Noah Howard.
In addition to her parents, Marcella is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Joe Howard, four brothers, Dean Perkins, Dorsey Ulyus Perkins, Lee Roy Perkins, Johnny Joe Perkins, four sisters, Eola Smith Thacker, Rosa Wilson, Augusta Geneva Blanton, and Alene Tanner.
Marcella was the first female Mayor of Salyersville, Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Dunn officiating. Burial followed in the Highlands Memorial Park in Staffordsville, Kentucky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
