Joe Lyon age 91 of Morrow, Ohio formerly of Magoffin County, Kentucky passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Pine Ridge Nursing Facility, Morrow, Ohio. He was born August 14, 1931 at Coon Creek in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late James and Cindy Helton Lyon.
Survived by his wife Lillie Bell Howard Lyon, two sons, Jeffery (Teresa) Lyon, Stanley (Joanna) Lyon, one sister, Lucille Damron, two granddaughters, Jamie Lyon, Amberly Lyon (Joe) Davilla, three grandsons, Darren (Kristie) Woodruff, Stan (Randi) Lyon, Jr., Jacob (Amanda) Lyon, eleven great grandchildren, Dylan (Holly) Woodruff, Tucker Davilla, Hunter Woodruff, Addison Lyon, Jase Lyon, Beau Lyon, Alice Lyon, Elliott Lawson, Sadie Lyon, Wayatt Lyon, and Bennett Lyon.
In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by four brothers, James “Jimmy” Lyons, Jr, Stephen Lyon, Harry Lyon, Douglas Lyon, and one sister, Shirley Lyon.
A graveside service was held Saturday, July 29, 2023 from the Howard-Lyon Family Cemetery at Lick Creek, Kentucky with Butch Whitaker officiating.
Military rites were given by the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15 the day of service.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
