JACKSON, Ky. – Drivers who use US 460 just west of downtown Salyersville in Magoffin County should prepare for a detour beginning Monday, Oct. 9. Construction associated with the Ivy Point Hill roadway relocation will result in the closure of the road.
The road will be closed between milepoints 10.0 and 10.6, or between KY 30 and Lee Prater Street/Water Works Street. This will affect through traffic between Salyersville and West Liberty.
The road is expected to reopen by Sunday, Oct 22.
A signed detour will be posted involving KY 30, the Mountain Parkway, and KY 7. Through traffic on US 460 can use KY 30 and the Mountain Parkway to reconnect with US 460 at the end of the Mountain Parkway.
Approximately 3,700 vehicles use the affected section of US 460 each day.
