Ruben Hale, 84, of Mt. Sterling passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Bluegrass Hospice Care Lexington, KY.
He was born July 22, 1939 in Magoffin County, KY to the late Ruben Hale and Virgie Castle. He attended Hope First Church of God. He retired after 30+ years of service for Conrail/CSX as a railroad worker. He was an avid farmer and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bailey Hale of Hope, KY; son, David Hale (Kristy) of Hope, KY; daughter, Rachel King (Johnny) of Hope, KY; sisters, Charity “Peach” Hardy (Ed) of Scottsdale, AZ and Opal Hale of Canton, MI; grandchildren, Brittany Breeden (Dylan), Devin King and Savana King; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Hale; brothers, Roy Hicks, Ellis Shepherd, Joe Wheeler Hale, Lindburg Hale, Jesse James Hale; and a sister, Bonnie Crisp.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Sizemore officiating, burial following at Hale Family Cemetery in Hope, KY. Pallbearers were David Hale, Johnny King, Devin King, Rick Hale, Preston Hale and Sam Hunt.
