Eddie Kay Sowards Charles age 74 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at her home. She was born November 26, 1949 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Eddie Sowards and Draxie Irene Anderson.
Survivors include three daughters; Valerie (Keith) Biliter of Pikeville, Kentucky, Melissa (Paul) Burchell of Salyersville, Kentucky and Kayla (Tony) Burke of Pikeville, Kentucky, two step sons; Derrick Scott of Salyersville, Kentucky and Eric Scott of Pikeville, Kentucky, one sister; Teresa Branham of Ashcamp, Kentucky, eight grandchildren; Leighanna Burchell Preston, Clay Ratliff, Jody Howell, Gabriel Lloyd Burchell, Rachel Ratliff Hammond, Cody Scott, Shalee Scott and Woodland Burke; four great grandchildren; Macie, Colt, Ryleigh and Anderson.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; David Charles, one daughter Stephanie Moore, one brother Gary Sowards and one sister Brenda Wright.
Kay was retired from Finance and a member of the Community Church at Zebulon, Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from the Community Funeral Home at 4902 Zebulon Highway, Pikeville, Kentucky with Mark Justice officiating. Burial followed in the Bent Ridge Cemetery at Zebulon, Kentucky.
