Maribelle (Mary) Rose Watkins, age 87, a resident of Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Clintwood, Virginia surrounded by her family.
Mary was born March 24, 1937 in Clintwood, Virginia the daughter of the late Clyde E. Rose and Dona Mae Horton Rose. Husband, Donald Watkins; her son, Christopher Watkins; one brother, Gerald Rose and his wife Nancy, son in law, John Nutter also preceded in death.
Mary was employed by the Magoffin County Board of Education as the transportation secretary until her retirement. Her family and friends were everything to her and she loved spending as much time with them as possible.
Those left to mourn includes daughters, Sherri Nutter of Georgetown, Kentucky; Pam Howard and husband Steve of Royalton, Kentucky; two sisters, Rita Jordan and husband Roy of Millboro, Virginia;
Aleta Moore and husband Everett of Clintwood, Virginia; one brother, Wendell Rose and wife Evelyn of Dumfries, Virginia; three grandchildren, ; Jessica Risner and husband Justin of Royalton, Kentucky; Ashley Connelley and husband Tyler of Royalton, Kentucky; and James Nutter of Georgetown, Kentucky; four great grandchildren: Paityn Risner, Piper Risner, Jaxon Connelley and Madyson Connelley, a host of family and friends who love and miss her.
Funeral services for Mary Watkins were conducted Monday, September 9, 2024 from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Tim Watkins and Eddie Rose delivered comforting on the day of service. Interment followed in the Cleve Bailey Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky.
