Christmas on the Farm

BEAR BRANCH – Christmas on the Farm, the annual and free Christmas event held on Bear Branch for the past five years, is slated for December 21, from 2 to 8 p.m.

Avavan Deaton, along with her family, throws the event each year for the community at their farm at Creekside Stitchin’ and More, located on Bear Branch, in Magoffin County. People (and pets!) can have their photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Clause, as well as the Grinch, check out the petting zoo, a barrel train and full light display, while having some hot cocoa and cookies, and even get some fairy dust to sprinkle for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. Gifts for children up to the age of 14.

This year they’re adding a make-your-own ornament station, where you can pick out and personalize your own family ornament for the 2024 season.

“We’re trying to recreate what they do at the Kentucky Horse Park, but for free and on a smaller scale for the community,” Deaton said. “Last year we gave away 400 gifts, so it’s just got bigger than we can afford, so that’s why we’re doing this horse show.”

Christmas on the Farm is held each year in December.
