Calvin Neil Adams, age 83, of West Carrollton, Ohio, formerly of Magoffin County Kentucky, passed away January 17th, 2025 at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was born December 20th, 1941 at Bradley, Kentucky in Magoffin County to the late Curt and Moll Whitaker Adams.
Survived by his wife of 42 years Rose Adams, step-son Benjamin Wells, both of West Carrollton, Ohio, and niece Kathy (Jeff) Rhoades of Dayton, Ohio. Calvin is also survived by one brother, Danny C. Adams of Bradley, Kentucky; nephew Carl Neil (Johnna) Adams of Magoffin County; nieces Jayne Adams (Pat) Fontana of Mt. Sinai, New York; and Hester Adams Hopson (Sherman McGinnis) of Jefferson City, Tennessee; great niece Carlee Ann Adams; great nephews Gavin Louis Fontana and Danny Dawson Hopson. He is also survived by several loving cousins and many life-long friends.
In addition to his parents, Calvin is preceded in death by one brother, Carl (Bid) Adams and one step-son Jeffrey Wells.
Calvin graduated from Salyersville High School in 1958 where he played basketball and also played in the band. He was selected to the All-State band as a trombone player which resulted in him receiving a music scholarship to Morehead State. After two years at MSU he made the decision to join the work force and moved to Dayton, Ohio. After five years of work in Dayton, he was drafted into Military Service for two years. He served in Germany as an U. S. Army Military Policeman. Upon receiving his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he returned to the Dayton, Ohio area where he worked and resided until his death.
A memorial service will be held at the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, April 5th at 1:00 p.m.
