Carol Angela Colvin Pence, age 68, passed from her earthly home into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her home in Morehead, Kentucky.
She was born February 23, 1956, in Salyersville, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Henry H. Colvin and Wilma Conley Colvin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Thomas Sheffel.
Carol graduated from Salyersville High School in 1974 and graduated from Morehead State University in 1997. She retired in 2019 from SRG Global in Morehead as a laboratory technician after 20 years of service.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol was an excellent lasagna maker, loved her Coca-Cola and Black Friday shopping, named every car she ever drove, and was fearless at amusement parks, riding every ride. She loved a dare and was not afraid to take a dare. Carol and her siblings had a hard childhood but were surrounded by love from each other, their parents, lots of cousins, many aunts and uncles, and grandparents.
Carol is survived by her children, Misti (Jason) Holbrook and Christopher (Mary) Pence; her grandchildren, Lana, Nate, Becca, Mackenzie and Marley; her siblings, Henrietta Sheffel, Betty Colvin, John (Opal) Colvin, Denise Colvin, James (Ilene) Colvin and Shannon Colvin.
Carol is also survived by a host of family members and friends who will mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. with Brother Jeremy Sheffel officiating.
