Charles Oliver Ward age 81 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born May 11, 1943 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to the late Sanford and Melda Montgomery Ward.
Survived by his wife, Alpha Gay Montgomery Ward, one son, Perry Oliver (Loretta) Ward of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Bronna Carol Francis of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother, Garrett (Jean) Ward of Salyersville, Kentucky, four sisters, Nevalee Reed of Dayton, Ohio, Emma Ruth Skaggs of Salyersville, Kentucky, Connie (Bill) Hunter of West Liberty, Kentucky, Gail (Frank) Phipps of West Liberty, Kentucky, one granddaughter, Olivia Jo (Michael Paul) Brown, two step-grandchildren, Jessica Francis (Jack) Prater, Channing Francis, two brother-in-laws Teddy Montgomery, Doyle (Charlotte) Montgomery, two sister-in-laws, Marcella (James) Meade, Jan Montgomery, and his special cats, Chalphie and Tinker.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by one son-in-law Michael Francis, two sisters, Zelma Jenkins, Judy Francis, one brother-in-law, Lee Montgomery, and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Blanton.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 18, 2024 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Reed, Larry Blair, and Channing Francis officiating. Burial followed in the Trumbo Risner Cemetery at Coon Creek, Salyersville, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
