Salyersville City Council August 18 meeting

SALYERSVILLE – The Salyersville City Council met in regular session on Monday, passing the tax rates and resolutions to apply for more funding.

During the August 18 meeting, the council approved to pay the City’s and Water Works’ current bills, with some questions raised about Water Works’ phone bill.

The council held the second reading to set the tax rate, leaving them the same as the previous year.

They also approved three resolutions to allow the mayor to sign paper work to apply for money for Water Works projects.

During audience comments, David Gardner asked for minutes to be read during the meetings when they are accepted, as well as commented on the legalities of how to pass ordinances, and for clarification of the motion to pay the bills and which bills that covers.

The brief meeting was adjourned after around 10 minutes.

The next regularly scheduled Salyersville City Council meeting is set for September 15.
