SALYERSVILLE – The 21st Annual Magoffin County Community Day is slated for next Saturday, August 17, 2024!
Magoffin County Community Day, which will be held at Ramey Memorial Park starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 17, is planned as a fun event to help raise money for participating non-profit civic organizations in the county. The goal is to raise money to benefit Magoffin County’s people through the various organizations.
The Magoffin County Community Foundation continues to be the primary sponsor of the event, along with Salyersville National Bank.
This year’s participating non-profit organizations include the Magoffin County Senior Citizens, Magoffin County Christian Care Fund, Miss Magoffin Scholarship Organization, District 3 Volunteer Fire Department, North Magoffin Volunteer Fire Department, Middle Fork Volunteer Fire Department, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Salyersville Volunteer Fire Department, Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department, DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter 15, South Magoffin Community Activists, South Magoffin Volunteer Fire Dept., Magoffin County Youth Baseball/Softball, KY Mission Bible Training Center (KMBTC), Magoffin County Rainbow Girls, Salyersville Renaissance, Salyersville Kiwanis, Royalton Community Council, East KY Vipers Baseball, Royalton Trail Town, Girl Scout Troop #2954, Coats For Kids, and Light House Shelter.
Just as the community has come to expect, similar activities will be included this year, such as food booths, games for all ages, the ever-popular money machine and bingo. As they do every year, they will also be giving away a car. There will be no inflatables or dunking booth this year, however, but there will be plenty of fun, good and great music for all in attendance.
Also planned is a huge lineup of music including Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Larry Sparks, Dave Adkins Band, Turning Ground. Randy Maloney & Friends, Erin Grace Rudd & Timelapse, Eddie Jenkins & The 606 Sound, and Terry Miller & Traveler. The Emcee for the event will be CJ the DJ and sound is provided by Branham Productions.
Tickets for the August 17 event remain at $10 and are now available for sale at both branches of The Salyersville National Bank and at both gates the day of the event.
Children under 12 will be admitted free. Mark your calendars and bring your lawn chair!
