Donald Helton, age 66, a resident of Helton Branch in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. Donald was born December 31, 1953 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Roscoe and Goldie Manns Helton. Brothers, Tommy Helton, James Helton, and Grant Helton; sisters, Peggy Helton, Janet Stevens, and Ruby Clay also preceded him in death. Donald enjoyed being with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors and University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Those left to mourn includes wife, Sharon Gail Risner Helton, whom he married August 14, 1971, sons, Donald Helton Jr. of Salyersville, Kentucky, Davy Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, brothers, Billy Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jerry Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, Denzel Helton of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Jimmy Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, sisters, Glistina Prater of Salyersville, Kentucky, and Nedith Adams of Salyersville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Zachary Helton of Paintsville, Kentucky, Jordan Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, Lashonda Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, great grandchild, Graylen Helton of Salyersville, Kentucky, and a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Donald Helton were conducted Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Johnnie Reed delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Helton Family Cemetery on the Mouth of Coon in Salyersville, Kentucky.
