Dr. Thomas Allen Smith, age 70, a resident of Walker Hill in Staffordsville, Kentucky; passed away Friday, October 28, 2022 at his home with family.
Dr. Smith was born October 21, 1952 in Macon, Georgia the son of Thomas Hilton Smith and the late Rebbie Johnson Smith.
Although he was rather a rambunctious youth, he eventually found himself in the halls of Emory University of Medicine, graduating with Honors in 1985. He completed his residency at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1989. He worked as a family practice doctor for thirty-three years. He also was employed as a licensed minister for the Church of God of Prophecy for seven years. He enjoyed sci-fi movies, traveling, the beach, playing and composing gospel music, and creating digital artwork.
Those left to mourn includes wife of thirty-five years, Linda Childers Smith, father, Thomas Hilton Smith, son, Brandon Smith and wife Brittany of Irvine, Kentucky, daughters, Sarah Zometa of Lexington, Kentucky, Rebekah Smith of Staffordsville, Kentucky, grandchild, Serena Zometa of Lexington, Kentucky, sister, Nancy Murphy of Douglasville, Georgia, brothers, Larry Smith of Conway, South Carolina, Randy Smith of Loganville, Georgia, Jerry Smith of Cartersville, Georgia, Ronnie Smith of Kathleen, Georgia, Donnie Smith of Sieverville, Tennessee, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
A memorial service remembering the life of Dr. Thomas Allen Smith will be conducted Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Church of God of Prophecy at 11 Harkins Drive in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Rev. Atha Johnson will deliver comforting words on the day of service. The family will welcome friends Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the church and anytime prior to services.
