DRY BREAD – A Magoffin County man was arrested at a residence on Dry Bread on Saturday and charged with multiple drug trafficking charges.
After receiving a tip, the Magoffin County Sheriff Department served a search warrant at a home on Dry Bread Road, in Magoffin County, with deputies seizing several grams of cocaine, numerous prescription pills (including Klonopin, Gabapentin, Oxycodone, and Hydrocodone), along with approximately $1,200 in cash, digital scales and firearms.
Timothy L. Sparks, 54, of Dry Bread Road, was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he was later released on bond, pending future court dates. He is currently charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 4 grams cocaine); first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 10 dosage units of opiates); first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 10 dosage units of a drug unspecified); tampering with physical evidence and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia.
The Magoffin County Sheriff Department continues to urge people in the community to let them know of any drug activity in the county, advising people can leave anonymous tips to help combat the ongoing drug epidemic.
