OAKLEY – A Magoffin County man was fatally injured in an ATV wreck Saturday night.
According to Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post, emergency crews were called to an ATV collision on Oakley Road just after 11 p.m. on November 21.
The initial investigation indicated Joel Watkins, 43 years old, of Salyersville, was operating a Honda ATV on Oakley Road when he lost control of the vehicle, causing him to exit the roadway. When the ATV returned to the roadway, Watkins was ejected from it.
Watkins was pronounced deceased on scene by the Magoffin County Coroner’s office.
The collision remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Tracy Salyer, who was assisted on scene by KSP Post 9 personnel and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
