BIRCH BRANCH – A Magoffin County home was destroyed by fire on Monday morning.
According to Salyersville Fire Chief Paul Howard said the residents of the Birch Branch home, Greg Jordan and his wife, were in the bed when the fire started and were awoken by the smoke on November 9.
Both were able to exit the home relatively safely, with Greg suffering a burn to his hand and his wife having some smoke inhalation.
The home was a total loss, but the cause of the fire is still unknown at press time, though Howard noted it had been ruled accidental.

The location was wrong in this article. It was not Burch branch. The house was located on Jim Arnett branch
