Grand jury releases indictment

SALYERSVILLE – A Magoffin County grand jury released the following indictment this week after the warrant was served:

Joseph B. Isaac, 40, of Flat Fork Road, in Salyersville, is charged with one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, heroin (a Class D felony). According to the indictment, on or about November 6, 2023, Isaac allegedly possessed a quantity of a controlled substance, heroin.

The indictment was issued on July 18, served on July 28, at which time Isaac was arrested and held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, from where he was released on bond two days later. He is scheduled to be arraigned on August 1 at 10 a.m. at the Magoffin County Justice Center.

Grand jury indictments are currently only being released after the warrants and/or subpoenas are served.
