LOUISVILLE — Kentucky Christian University pitcher Holly Handshoe has been named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
Handshoe is a Magoffin County High School graduate.
In addition to Handshoe, eight of her Kentucky Christian University Kentucky Christian University pitcher Holly Handshoe has been named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. A Magoffin County High School graduate, Handshoe will enter her sophomore season later in the 2022-23 school year. teammates earned the academic honor.
The honor recognizes the academic prowess of softball teams across the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,227 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the 2021-22 school year. NCAA Division I followed with 2,155 and NCAA Division II with 1,646. Junior Colleges and NAIA featured 756 and 736 student-athletes, respectively.
Team GPAs and scholar-athletes are submitted by member head coaches.
Along with Handshoe, Kentucky Christian University student-athletes Emma Ball, Ashton Blackburn, Victoria Breckler, Shaylee Heistad, Jaryn Holtsclaw, Bryn Osburn, Kathryn Schreiber and Erica Vain received the honor.
Handshoe will compete in her sophomore season for the Kentucky Christian University softball team later in the 2022-23 school year.
