Hassel “Hass” Gullett, age 91, a resident of Upper Mash Fork Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his home with family.
“Hass” was born January 2, 1933 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late James “Jim” and Virgie Conley Gullett. Sisters, Earleen Hunley, Christeen Freeman, Son in Law, Carl Collins, Sister in Law, Dorthy Gullett, also preceded in death.
“Hass” served his Country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 where he’s a Veteran of the Korean War prior to being honorably discharged. He served the Lord since 1979. He was a solid figure in the Masonic Lodge for over seventy years, for which he received his “70 year pen” this past Saturday, July 26, 2024, just days before passing away. He loved to fish and spending time with family. He held many jobs in his life, but he was best known as Electrical Inspector for forty-one years.
Those left to mourn includes wife of sixty-nine years, Pat Tackett Gullett, four sons, Larry Dean Gullett and wife Misty Patrick of Salyersville, Kentucky, Garry Lynn “Jaws” Gullett and wife Pamela Jean Bach of Salyersville, Kentucky, Ronald Patton Gullett and wife Kellie Goble of Salyersville, Kentucky, Tommy Dwayne Gullett of Salyersville, Kentucky, daughter, Sherry Jean Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, brothers, Ronald Dexter Gullett and wife JoAnn Patrick of Salyersville, Kentucky, Elden Gene Gullett of Toledo, Ohio, sister, Linda Karen Jones of Lake Placid, Florida, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Hassel “Hass” Gullett were conducted Friday, August 2, 2024 from the Salyersville First Baptist Church on Dixie Avenue in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Damon Jones delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery in Staffordsville, Kentucky. Masonic Rites were conducted from the Salyersville First Baptist Church. Military Rites were given by the Magoffin County Chapter D.A.V. Contributions can be made to the Salyersville Masonic Lodge in Mr. Gullett’s honor.
