MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Magoffin County plated multiple runs but it wasn’t enough as North Bullitt prevailed 19-3 in four innings at The Ripken Experience on Thursday, April 3.
Ethan Hedges started on the mound for North Bullitt and earned the win. Hedges pitched two and two-thirds innings and recorded five strikeouts.
Brady Dawson replaced Hedges on the mound and closed out the game for the Eagles. Dawson posted three strikeouts.
Michael Trusty started on the mound for Magoffin County and took the loss. Trusty pitched two innings and struck out two North Bullitt batters.
Following Trusty, Evan Reed and Gavin Arnett each made relief pitching appearances for the Hornets. Reed pitched two innings and recorded three strikeouts.
The three Magoffin County pitchers combined to throw 142 pitches.
North Bullitt, a team out of the 6th Region, scored 19 runs on 12 hits. Stellan Knopp (three hits, five RBIs), Cody Pendleton (two hits, two RBIs), Josh Garner (one hit, one RBI), Andrew Day (one hit, one RBI), Rowen Burton (one hit), Caden Dorsey (one hit), Avery Hooper (one hit), Luke Deitchman (one hit), Braylen Duncan (one hit), Braxton Ballman (two RBIs), Cooper Shuff (one RBI) and Andruw Wooden (one RBI) each delivered offensively for North Bullitt in its victory. Knopp tripled twice for the Eagles.
Magoffin County scored three runs on four hits. Helping his pitching cause at the plate, Trusty finished two-for-two with a double and an RBI.
Chipping in offensively for the Hornets, Parker Bowling and Noah Gibson added one hit apiece
