The Magoffin County track team hosted a 13-school home meet on April 27 for their second meet of the season. Magoffin, Pikeville, Menifee, Morgan, Phelps, Knott Central, Breathitt, Paintsville, Johnson Central, Elliott, Piarist, East Ridge, and Lawrence County were the participating schools. Despite the cold rainy conditions, both the boys and girls teams made strong standings, finishing in the top 3. Top three boys’ teams- Pikeville (152), Magoffin (74) and East Ridge (70) and top three girls’ teams- Pikeville (152), Menifee (89) and Magoffin (70).
First place finishes for the team included- Alison Cantrell and Alex Hibbens both in pole vault, 4X400 meter relay (Olivia Wittes, Miley Back, Haylee Risner, and Cayman Hall), Kolton Risner in both the elementary 100m dash and long jump.
Cheyenne Perkins captured 3rd in the 100m dash, both 4X200m relays (Madison McNeilly, Olivia Wittes, Cayman Hall & Miley Back and Luke Wireman, Shawn Howard, Connor Comer, and Daegan Caudill) placed 3rd, Miley Back captured 3rd in the 300m hurdles, Bryce Salyer was the runner up in the 300m hurdles, Matthew Hall captured 3rd in the 3200m (2 mile), Bryce Salyer captured 2nd in pole vault followed By Luke Wierman in 3rd, Aiden Collett captured 3rd in the long jump with Bryce Salyer finishing 3rd in the triple jump. Abby Bradley captured 2nd in discus throw and 3rd in shot put
