James Bennard “J.B.” Bays

James Bennard “J.B.” Bays age 64 of Far Middle Fork, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his home. He was born May 07, 1960 in Seitz, Kentucky to the late Keithern Bays, and Nancy Audell Prater Bays, who survives.

Survived by his mother, his wife, Barbie Darnell Bays, one daughter, Rhonda Renea Bays of Salyersville, Kentucky, two sisters, Linda Carol (Jim) Binkowski, Debra Sue (Randall) Long both of Knox, Indiana, with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his father, J.B. is preceded in death by one brother Charlie “Tag-A-Long” Bays and sister-in- law, Samantha Darnell Bays.

J.B. was the owner and operator of Bays Trucking & Construction, well known for his handle “Foxfire,” also served in the Army National Guard for nine years. He was baptized November 14, 2024 and a member of the Calvary Faith Baptist Church in Salyersville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 25, 2025 from the Magoffin County Funeral Chapel with Elza Lee “Ajax” Kissinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Bays Cemetery at Far Middle Fork in Salyersville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and any time prior till funeral services.

Military rites will be given by the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15 the day of the funeral service.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
