James “Doug” Howard, age 73, a resident of Cow Creek in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky after a lengthy illness.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents Wishard and Eula Dyer Howard. Also preceded in death is one sister, Rebecca “Becky” Howard.
Doug was employed as an equipment operator and superintendent until his retirement. He enjoyed coon hunting and attended Royalton Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to mourn includes wife Marlena Lykins Howard of Salyersville, Kentucky, sons, James Daniel Howard and wife Mendy of Salyersville, Kentucky, Joshua Dustin Howard and wife Jenna of Salyersville, Kentucky, brother, Dwayne Howard and wife Jenny of Salyersville, Kentucky, sister, Jeannene Howard of Rancho Cucamonga, California, grandchildren, Gavin James Howard, Ethan Daniel Howard, Camilla Jane Howard all of Salyersville, Kentucky, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Doug Howard were conducted Saturday, April 26, 2025, from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy David Jackson, Neil Bailey, Dennis Marshall delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Reed Family Cemetery on Cow Creek in Salyersville, Kentucky.
