Jesse Paul Downs, age 49, a resident of Berea, Kentucky, formerly of Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Jesse Paul was born December 14, 1975, the son of the late Jesse Lee and Linda Collinsworth Downs.
Jesse was employed as a prison guard Captain at both state and federal levels. He was nationally ranked third in billiards, participated and trained as a MMA fighter, and Golden Glove Boxer. When he was away from the ring he enjoyed fishing to relax.
Those left to mourn includes is one sister, Jessica Downs Jones of Berea, Kentucky, two nieces he adored Ashley Downs and Breanna Jones, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Jesse Paul Downs were conducted Monday, July 28, 2025, from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Rocklan Hughes and Tyson Cobb delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Collinsworth Cemetery on the White Oak Side of Grape Creek in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Monday, July 28, 2025 after 10:00 AM prior to funeral services.
