John F. Holbrook, 81, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Stillwater Hospice Home. He was born July 27, 1942 in Salyersville, Kentucky, son to the late Grant and Fronia (Risner) Holbrook. John worked as an entrepreneur throughout his life as well as working as a truck driver, working for his own mobile home transport company. He enjoyed vintage cars and was an animal lover. Surviving are his children, Ron Holbrook of Yoder, Michael (Susie) Holbrook of Yoder, and Karen (Sam) Gillie of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and siblings, Louise Griffey and Grant Holbrook, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, married November 14, 1964, Charlotte A. (Bowman) Holbrook on June 20, 2020; and six siblings. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation for John will also be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hoverstock Cemetery.
