Lady Hornets compete in 2A, Section 8 Tournament

PRESTONSBURG — Returning to the field following a lengthy layoff, Magoffin County competed in the 2025 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament.

Perry County Central pulled away to defeat Magoffin County 12-1 in five innings in the quarterfinals of the 2025 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament at StoneCrest on Tuesday, April 8.

The loss eliminated Magoffin County from the 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament.

Following the loss, Magoffin County slipped to 2-6.

Magoffin County was back on the field for its first game since Thursday, March 27.

The Lady Hornets are scheduled to visit Martin County for a 57th District game on Thursday, April 10.

Then, on Friday, April 11, Magoffin County is slated to visit Paintsville for another 57th District game.

Continuing a busy week, Magoffin County is due to visit 15th Region counterpart Phelps for a non-district game on Saturday, April 12.
