Lloyd “Monk” Patton age 74 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Paintsville ARH Hospital in Paintsville, Kentucky from a long battle with lung cancer. He was born November 16, 1951 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late John and Tressie Fletcher Patton.
He is survived by two sons, Jeremy Patton, Timothy Charles Patton, two daughters, Lisa Bailey, Nannie Halbert, one sister Nettie Fletcher, three grandchildren, Randy Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Braxton Patton, his girlfriend who he loves so much, Doris Morgan, many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and many friends. Monk also leaves behind, the people in the Courthouse and the Justice Center, he loved you all so much.
In addition to his parents, Monk is preceded in death by five brothers, Amos Patton, Andy Patton, Lum Patton, Tracy Patton, Henry Patton, five sisters, Judy Combs, Dorothy Baldwin Francis Wallen, Sherry Salyer, Pauline Patton, one grandchild Isaiah Patton, and one great grandchild Presley Bailey. Monk will be sadly missed by everyone.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 05, 2026 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Bailey and David Minix officiating. Burial will follow in the Montgomery Cemetery at Gun Creek, Kentucky. Family and friends may visit the funeral home Wednesday, February 04, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and any time prior to funeral services.
