Lois Edith Arnett Dyer

Lois Edith Arnett Dyer, age 88, a resident of Parkway Drive in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 at her home peacefully with family.

Born March 11, 1938, on Mill Branch in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Freeman and Merlie Bailey Arnett. Husband, Herman Dyer, brother, Thomas Arnett, sisters, Alma Gay Walters, Ruby Patrick, Candace Arnett, Carrie Young, Pam Sprague, Emily Mae Arnett, and Wilma Faye Arnett preceded in death.

Mrs. Dyer was employed by General Motors in Sandusky, Ohio until her retirement. Her and her husband, Herman, returned to Kentucky to open and operate the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky where she sold pre-need for Investors Heritage. She was an avid gardener, canner, and crocheter. She loved to garage sale and go to the antique shops, often dragging her boys, near and far looking for those deals she couldn’t resist. Lois was a dedicated Christian and enjoyed watching the various Christian, Gospel, and Bluegrass shows on the television and radio.

Those left to mourn includes daughters, Sandra Cummings and husband Jim of Castalia, Ohio, Vanessa Zeller and husband Douglas Sr. of Fredonia, New York, four grandchildren, Brian Michael Parker (Jessica Lykens-Hughes) of Salyersville, Kentucky, Amanda Parker (Geoff LaMarca) of Castalia, Ohio, Allison Kwilos (Jacob) of Forestville, New York, Douglas Zeller Jr. (Michelle) of Silver Creek, New York, great-grandchildren, Kaylin Griffin, Jesse Kwilos, Hannah Kwilos, Mayleigh Mathews, Trinity Parker, Avalyn Kwilos, Liam Zeller, Pierce Parker, Zofia Zeller, Killian Zeller, Amelia Zeller, two sisters, Donna Whitaker of Salyersville, Kentucky, Vicky Arnett of Salyersville, Kentucky, three caregivers and friends, Teresa Bailey, Barbie Hackworth, Diane Fletcher, also surviving is a host of family and friends who love and miss her.

Funeral services for Lois Dyer will be conducted Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Ben Martin will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Entombment will follow in the Bluegrass Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky. Family will welcome friends Friday, March 20, after 6:00 PM and anytime prior too funeral services. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Magoffin County Chapter Disabled American Veterans.
