Miss Magoffin County Scholarship Pageant
The Miss Magoffin County Scholarship Pageant, will be held Friday night, August 29th at the Pioneer Village Cabin Complex, starting at 8:30 p.m. This year, four beautiful and talented young women will compete for the coveted crown. Local talent will be on hand to entertain between the five competitions which include Private Interview, On-Stage Conversation, Health & Fitness, Talent, and Evening Gown. Once again, the pageant will be hosted by Jim Caldwell, a native of Magoffin County, and weatherman at WKYT in Lexington, KY. The Magoffin County High School Dance Team will be dancing, under the direction of Mackenzie Castle. The night will celebrate the reigning Miss Magoffin County, Kennedy Grace Conley who will relinquish her crown to another lucky young woman. The theme of this year’s event is “On Broadway” and will feature songs from favorite Broadway musicals! Director Jincy Bailey promises an awesome show with cool temperatures and no rain in sight!
The winner of the Miss Magoffin County Scholarship Pageant, which is a preliminary in the Miss America Organization, will receive a $700.00 scholarship, prizes, flowers, official sash, official Miss America local crown and will advance to the Miss Kentucky Pageant held in Bowling Green in June of 2026.
Contestant No. 1 – Bella Dunn. She is the 19-year-old daughter of Jerry and Casey Dunn of Salyersville. A Sophomore at the University of Kentucky, she is majoring in Public Health. She plans to pursue a career as a Medical Sales Representative. For her talent, she will present a tap dance routine to “Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Her Community Service Initiative is “Heartbeat of Hope”.
Contestant No. 2 – Kennedy Pelfrey. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Ashley and Eric Pelfrey of West Liberty. A Freshman at Morehead State University, she is majoring in Biomedical Science. She plans to pursue a career as a Pediatric Oncologist. For her talent, she will be speed painting to the spoken word poem “Free to Be”. Her Community Service Initiative is “BRIGHT – Be Real, Inspire, Grow, Heal & Thrive”
Contestant No. 3 – Erin Grace Rudd. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Stephen and Katrina Rudd of Royalton. A Senior at Magoffin County High School, she plans to attend the University of Kentucky and major in Vocal Performance. In the future, she plans to become a vocal professor and open her own private voice studio. For her talent, Erin will perform the aria “O Mio Babbino Caro” from the opera Gianni Schicchi. Her Community Service Initiative is “STARS (Supporting Talent and Arts Resources in Schools)”.
Contestant No. 4 – Chloe Dyer. She is the 20-year-old daughter of Jonathan and Brenda Dyer of Salyersville. She is a graduate of Carl D. Perkins Vocational Center and is a licensed Cosmetologist. Her future plans include studying Business and opening her own beauty salon one day. For her talent, Chloe will perform a dance routine to “Separate Lives”. Her Community Service Initiative is “Improving the Lives of Persons with Disabilities.”
