BLAINE – A Magoffin County man died as a result of injuries sustained during a logging accident last week.
Late last week, Kenny Ray Blanton, 45, a resident of Paintsville, but originally from Salyersville, suffered serious injuries while on a logging job in the Blaine area of Lawrence County.
Initial reports indicated that he was cutting down trees when either an uprooted or disturbed tree behind him fell on him, resulting in his serious injuries.
Blanton was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, then air lifted to St. Mary’s in West Virginia, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was taken to Cincinnati, where his wishes to be an organ donor were carried out.
