SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is set to host Breathitt County for its next game in the 2022-23 girls’ high school basketball season on Thursday, Dec. 8.
After pulling away to defeat Cordia 54-30 on Saturday, Dec. 3, Magoffin County is 1-1.
Prestonsburg dealt Magoffin County a loss on Tuesday, Nov. 29, prevailing 49-30 over the Lady Hornets.
Breathitt County is 1-2. After beating Lee County 52-29 in its season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 29, Breathitt County dropped back-to-back games to Knott County Central and Prestonsburg.
Knott County Central beat Breathitt County 71-34 on Friday, Dec. 2.
Dealing Breathitt County its second straight loss one day later, Prestonsburg doubled up the Lady Cats 72-36 on Saturday, Dec. 3.
Breathitt County was visiting Johnson Central on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Results from the Breathitt County-Johnson Central girls’ basketball game were unavailable at press time.
Magoffin County is slated to visit Breathitt County for another matchup later in the 2022-23 girls’ high school basketball season Thursday, Feb. 2.
Longtime rivals, Magoffin County and Breathitt County met on the court twice during the 2021-22 girls’ high school basketball season. Breathitt County notched a pair of wins over Magoffin County in the previous prep hoops campaign.
Tip-off for the upcoming Magoffin County-Breathitt County girls’ basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m.
