Michael Luster Yates age 74 of West Liberty, Kentucky passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home. He was born April 25, 1950 at Pricey, Kentucky the late Luster Yates and Peggy Hughes.
Survived by three sons, Carey Lee (Kathy) McKenzie, Michael Shawn (Marissa) Yates, Chad Everett (Loretta) Yates all of Salyersville, Kentucky, one step-son, Aaron Arnett, four daughters, Jennifer (David) Slusher, Emily (Billy) Yates, Brandy (Johnny) Yates all of Salyersville, Kentucky, Micha Yates of Morehead, Kentucky, one brother Charles Smith of Salyersville, Kentucky, three step-daughters, Judith Collins, Shirley Bailey, Alexis Bailey, one sister, Kathy Carrick of Ohio, sixteen grandchildren, Cody (Kristina) Slusher, Chris (Tara) Yates, Channing (Jessica) Yates, Chelsea Mullins, Cirby (Shanda) Mullins, Cory (Emmalee) Slusher, Courtney (Daron) Eldridge, Curtis (Haley) Yates, Colby (Bethany) Kennedy, Cole Kennedy, Isaac Yates, Justice Yates, Angelica McKenzie (Larry) Bailey, Alexandria McKenzie, Emily McKenzie, Katherine Caudill, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and special friend, Crystal Yates.
In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Cole Yates, and numerous brothers, and sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from the White Oak Pentecostal Church, at 1165 Grape Creek Road, Salyersville, Kentucky, with Brad Standifer officiating. Burial followed in the Family Cemetery at Half Mountain, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
