Rex Allen age 80 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was born February 18, 1945 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Irvin Allen, Sr., and Ora Lee Davis Allen.
Survived by four sons, Rex Allen, Jr., of Jacksonville, Florida, Jesse Allen of Milford, Indiana, Steve Allen of Syracuse, Indiana, Edward Dewayne Allen of Van Lear, Kentucky, one daughter, Jennifer Auxier of Royalton, Kentucky, one brother, Ed Allen of Syracuse, Indiana, three sisters, Marsue Dillion of Salyersville, Kentucky, Lu Edler of St. Lucy, Florida, Kathy Ann Allen of Indiana, ten grandchildren, Jessica, Sheena, Amber, Holly, Seth, Chris, James, Scott, Colten, Heather, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Rex is preceded in death by his precious wife, Lonnie Allen Trusty, three brothers, Brunie Allen, Irvin Allen, Jr, Ray Allen, four sisters, Emma Jean Bowling, Beatrice Allen, Bonnie Jean Allen, and Laudie B. Allen.
Rex was a member of the Church of the Living God. He loved working on and repairing old clocks. He also loved coon hunting with his hounds, Brutis and Boomer. Rex most of all loved spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 08, 2025 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Darvin Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Allen Cemetery at Long Creek, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
