Rodney Salyer age 78 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born November 29, 1942 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Acey and Maxine Lykins Salyer.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Salyer, two sons, Williams Bernard Salyer of Ohio, Melvin Acey Salyer of Van Lear, Kentucky, one daughter, Karen Sue Salyer of Danville, Kentucky, two sisters, Sherry Preston, of Lexington, Kentucky, Annettie Gamble of Ohio, five grandchildren, Aaron Salyer, Brian Salyer, Cody Cantrell, Haley Salyer, Jennifer Salyer, three great grandchildren, Addie Salyer, Brooklyn Salyer, and Elizabeth Cantrell.
In addition to his parents, Rodney is preceded in death by four brothers, Merritt Salyer, William Salyer, Bernard Salyer, Dick Salyer, two sisters, Linda McCorkle, and Diana Salyer.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
