Rosetta Golatka Hammonds

Rosetta Golatka Hammonds age 89 of Coal Branch in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at her home. She was born July 17, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Steven Michael and Eva Lillian Gee Golatka.

Survived by two sons, Grover (Phyllis) Hammonds of Paintsville, Kentucky, Larry (Freda) Hammonds of Nicholasville, Kentucky, three daughters, Rosemarie (James) Fletcher, Debra (Hearl) Howard, Bonnie Howard and Tony Barnett all of Salyersville, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, Gwen (Jason) Castle, Josh Hammonds, Tabitha (Kerry) Coomes-Johnson, Travis Fletcher, Tara (Sam) Hartline, Kelsee (Jordan) Ritchie, Lacey (Tyler) Burchett, Dawlton (Abby) Howard, seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Rubado, Gabriella Rubado, Finney Coomes-Johnson, Noah Hartline, Palmer Ritchie, Baby Beau Hartland on the way, Collyns Claire Burchett, and one sister-in-law, Brenda Joseph of Salyersville, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, Rosetta is preceded in death by her husband, Grover Hammonds, Jr., one great-grandson, Walker Reed Hartline, one brother, Michael Golatka, four sisters, Betty Yunkon, Mary Crapsey, twin sister, Annie Eckhart, and Rita Caygill.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 25, 2025 from the Magoffin County Funeral Chapel with Demmie Marshall and Garry Ferguson officiating. Burial followed in the Patrick-Lovely Cemetery at Johnson Fork, Kentucky.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
