Roy Elmer McKenzie age 61 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at his home. He was born March 23, 1964 at Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Alice Fay Gibson McKenzie.
Survived by his wife, Brenda Lee Slone McKenzie, one son, Chadwick Gibson of Salyersville, Kentucky, three daughters, Vanessa Rena Williams of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jessica (Matthew) Porter, Jennifer Mullis both of Georgetown, Kentucky, one brother, Michael Barnett of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother-in-law, Carl Slone of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, Carolyn Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister-in-law, Wanda Barnett of Salyersville, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, Angel Rena Mullis, Isabella Michelle Mullis, Skyler Bentley Perkins, Tristan Bentley Porter, Colton Eli Porter, Callie Rain Porter, Oliver Gibson, Hunter Gibson, with a host of nephews, nieces, family, friends, and his biggest protector, Peanut.
In addition to his mother, Roy is preceded in death by one son, Jordan Roy McKenzie, and one brother, Ricky Barnett.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 21, 2025 from the Holiness House of Prayer with Johnny Reed officiating. Burial followed in the McKenzie Cemetery at Limestone, Salyersville, Kentucky.
In Lieu of flowers, family has request contributions made to the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
