RENFRO VALLEY – The Class of 2024 Kentucky Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held this weekend, with Magoffin’s own, Charlie Sizemore included as one of the inductees.
On October 26 at Renfro Valley Entertainment Center Sizemore will be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, along with Black Stone Cherry, Rodney Griffin, Bobby Mackey, Paul Martin, Jimmy Mattingly, The McLain Family Band, Billy Moore, Ruble Sanderson, Sturgill Simpson, and the family of the late Gary Stewart.
Sizemore, originally of Puncheon Creek, entered the Bluegrass music scene as a teenager, stepping in for Ralph Stanley’s band when Keith Whitley left. He has done some amazing things in Kentucky helping our youth and made a difference in their lives with music education. He also worked on a Tom T Hall project as well as many others. Charlie is also well respected in the bluegrass and country music world.
Every two years, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors goes through the selection process to determine the inductee class.
Congratulations to Magoffin’s own, Charlie Sizemore, and the SI plans to have a full feature on the music giant in next week’s issue!
