Skid Minix

Skid Minix, 88, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021.

Born on November 4, 1932, in Sublett, Kentucky to Blane and Lizzie (nee Gullett) Minix.

Skid was a US Army Veteran, he served during the Korean War just out of high school. He worked at the Ford Motor Company for 40 years and was an avid UK Basketball fan for many years.

He was the beloved father of Skid Nelson (Tammy) Minix and Mica Anne (James) Burt; loving grandfather of Corey D. (Carla) Minix, Erin N. Minix, Paige E. (Anthony) Bellafonte, and Alexandra C. Burt; proud great-grandfather of Colin Minix and Aiden Bellafonte; also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Along with his parents, Skid was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Jean Minix; siblings, Edwin Minix, Jeff Minix, Herbert Minix, Pauline McFarland, Charles Minix, Frank Minix, and Suedell Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, where friends will be received from 11am until the time of service.

Interment will take place at Blanchester IOOF Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Loveland United Methodist Church, 10975 S. Lebanon Rd., Loveland, OH 45140.

    So sorry to hear of Skid’s passing. I remember him for his skills on the basketball court. He was born just 31 day after I was. His wife, Carolyn, and I were in the same grades from “primer” through high school. We both graduated high school in 1949 at age 16. Skid was one of the good guys, who raised a wonderful family. Rest in peace, my friend.
