SALYERSVILLE – A local church is holding a fundraising dinner tomorrow to help with the costs related to a major surgery scheduled for next week for a Salyersville Grade School kindergartner.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, Salyersville Pentecostal Church of Christ is hosting a fundraising soup bean dinner for the family of Montana and Stacy Bailey. The church will be selling soup bean dinners, complete with cornbread, fried potatoes, Sauerkraut and wieners, and brownie and drink, starting at 11 a.m. Each meal will be $10, dine in or take out, and they will be delivering within the city limits. Any and all donations would be appreciated.

People can call 606-496-6184 or 606-496-6192, or go to 699 East Maple Street, in Salyersville, KY, the day of the fundraiser.

The fundraiser is for Xander Bailey, the 6-year-old son of Montana and Stacy Bailey. The child has craniosynostosis and Chiari Malformation, requiring major surgery, set for January 22.

Salyersville Grade School shared the information about the fundraiser on social media, also posting, “We want to take a moment to support one of our incredible kindergarten students who is facing a very important upcoming surgery. To help with the costs, their family is hosting a Soup Bean Dinner. We invite all members of our community to join us in supporting this brave student and their family during this challenging time. Your support means the world! If you can contribute, even in small ways, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Xander and his family during this time and we encourage anyone who can to participate in this very important fundraiser.
