SALYERSVILLE – Magoffin County Special Olympics recently started in-person track and field practice, preparing for the tournament, slated for April 24 at Johnson Central High School.
Desirae Gasparac, the Magoffin County Special Olympics coordinator, told the Independent practice is going well, but they would love to get more athletes involved.
“It is open to any individuals with an intellectual disability who is age 8 or older,” Gasparac said. “We are currently participating in track and field. Our Area tournament will be on April 24th at Johnson Central. We will also be participating in bowling this fall.”
