Stolen car and fake $20 leads to arrest

SALYERSVILLE – A Johnson County man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly possessing a stolen car out of Morgan County and then trying to pass a forged $20 bill at the Salyersville National Bank’s branch bank on Parkway Drive.

According to the arrest citation, Magoffin County Sheriff Department W. Meade approached Kevin D. Music, 46, of Oil Springs, because he allegedly attempted to pass a forged $20 bill at the Salyersville branch bank.

Upon further investigation, Music was reportedly in possession of a 2009 Saturn passenger car that had been reported stolen out of Morgan County, with Music telling police he had purchased the vehicle from someone and was not aware of it being stolen.

Music was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where he remains at press time, pending future court dates.
