Walnut Festival slated for Oct. 16

ROYALTON – Royalton is gearing up for the third-annual Walnut Festival, slated for Saturday, October 16, 2021.

The Royalton Community Oversight Council announced the upcoming festival last week, noting that the event will be held at the Half Mountain Battlefield Park’s Randall Risner Memorial Shelter, located off of KY Rt. 7 south, on Highway 1471 in Royalton, Kentucky, across from South Magoffin Elementary.

Set up will begin at 10 a.m. for vendors, crafts, home baked goods and food vendors, with live music starting at 11 a.m. and running through 6 p.m. The Foggy Bottom Farm petting zoo with free entry will be set up on site, as well as a Cruise-In Classic Vehicle Show.

Those set to perform at the event include two-time Grammy winner and Salyersville native Rebecca Lynn Howard, 2 Lanes Home, The Midnite Promise, Dustin Hoover, Eddie Jenkins and The 606 Sound, Nathan and Chesi Arnett, Eddie Prater, Sophie McFarland, Austin Minix and more local artists.

So far, seven local food vendors and more than 20 arts, crafts, and goods vendors are signed up for the event, so come out next Saturday for festival food, unique local wares, great music and much more!
