ROYALTON – Be sure to join the Royalton Community Council this Saturday for the fifth-annual Walnut Festival, to be held at the Puncheon Battlefield Community Park, near South Magoffin Elementary.
The one-day event, slated for September 30, 2023, will begin at 10 a.m. with open ceremonies, featuring Zoe Howard singing the National Anthem. The festival is free to the public and will have music all day, as well as a raffle, car show, local vendors, kids painting, inflatables, and a cornhole tournament.
People who plan to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as seating is not provided at the park.
For the raffle, they will be giving away a 2013 Chevy Sonic, provided by Lester Prater, of Royalton, Kentucky. Tickets for the raffle are $5 for 1 ticket, $10 for 3, $20 for 8, and $50 for 20 tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the festival, or from any Royalton Community Council member prior to the day.
The car show will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and cornhole tournament will be at 2 p.m.

The Puncheon Battlefield Community Park is located off KY Rt. 7 south of Salyersville at 124 Half Mountain Road, Salyersville, KY 41465, across from South Magoffin Elementary.
