BURNING FORK – One person passed away as a result of a structure fire on Sunday in the Burning Fork community.
Crews were called to a structure fire at the home of Tony and Amanda Allen on Sunday, August 29. The fire was believed to be electrical in nature and started in a closet and spread into the bedroom of 68-year-old Barbara Allen.
Allen was pulled from the residence and place in an ambulance, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene by Magoffin County Coroner Deputy Brian Parker.
Salyersville Fire Department, District 3 Volunteer Fire Department and Lifeguard Ambulance Service responded to the fire, which remains under investigation, though foul play is not suspected.
