SALYERSVILLE — A total of 15 Magoffin County High School student-athletes have earned the KHSAA Triple Threat Award.
In an effort to continue the national emphasis and the KHSAA’s own efforts to de-emphasize sports specialization in the athletic culture, the Commissioner’s office launched the Triple Threat Award program in May 2018 to recognize those students who participate in high school athletics year-round. The award is given to student-athletes who participate in a KHSAA sport or sport-activity on the varsity level during each season of the academic year (fall/winter/spring). To be considered for the award, the student must be on the varsity roster of a sport or sport-activity for a team in each of the three sports seasons. The awards are based solely on each member school’s rosters that were submitted through the KHSAA’s online system, as that is the only permitted determinant for athletic eligibility (including team eligibility).
The 2024-25 KHSAA Triple Threat Award winners from Magoffin County High School are Hunter Arnett (Baseball/Basketball/Football), Abby Barnett (Basketball/Softball/Outdoor Track & Field/Volleyball), Parker Bowling (Baseball/Basketball/Golf), Colton Boyd (Archery/Cross Country/Outdoor Track & Field), Abigail Bradley (Basketball/Cross Country/Outdoor Track & Field), Daegan Caudill (Cross Country/Football/Outdoor Track & Field), Cayman Hall (Competitive Cheer/Cross Country/Golf/Outdoor Track & Field/Volleyball), Matthew Hall (Basketball/Cross Country/Outdoor Track & Field), Maci Minix (Competitive Cheer/Softball/Volleyball), Addison Patrick (Competitive Cheer/Tennis/Volleyball), Chase Perkins (Baseball/Basketball/Football), Evan Reed (Archery/Baseball/Basketball/Golf), Larah Salyer (Dance/Golf/Volleyball), Abbie Skaggs (Archery/Cross Country/Outdoor Track & Field) and Michael Trusty (Baseball/Basketball/Golf).
