SALYERSVILLE — Jaden Williams homered and pitched a no-hitter to lead Magoffin County over Knott County Central 16-1 in three innings on Thursday, April 27.
Williams claimed the win in the circle, striking out two and walking three. The Magoffin County thrived in the circle throughout the high school softball game.
Knott County Central starting pitcher Gabrielle Slone took the loss in the circle. Slone pitched two innings and recorded two strikeouts.
Replacing Slone, Nevaeh Yeary pitched in relief for visiting Knott County Central.
Magoffin County scored 16 runs on 11 hits. As part of a balanced offensive attack for Magoffin County, Williams (two hits, two RBIs), Abby Barnett (two hits, three RBIs), Jaylynn Lafferty (two hits, one RBI), Kayleigh Lemaster (one hit, two RBIs), Katie Carty (one hit, two RBIs), Katie Howard (one hit, one RBI), Rylie Castle (one hit) and Makenna Jordan (one hit) produced at the plate. Lafferty, Lemaster and Jordan each doubled while Carty tripled.
Magoffin County notched its second win over Knott County Central in the 2023 high school softball season.
